Following the GDC Board of Commissioners’ award of a Delivery Partner (DP) contract to MPA Delivery Partners,\u00a0 the $16 billion Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP) will be managed by New York’s Gateway Development Commission (GDC). The GDC has expanded its financial, compliance, and technical capacity for execution.<\/p>\n
The HTP project, which includes building two 7.2 km long tracks and two 3.8 km long tunnels, will be overseen by GDC. Additionally, Amtrak’s 1910-opened North River Tunnel will be repaired, after it was damaged during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.<\/p>\n
Key project management areas that MPA Delivery Partners will support include interface risk management, safety and quality management, cost and schedule assurance, and innovation and value engineering. In addition, MPA Delivery Partners will offer safety, quality, and compliance support, field management, and other forms of construction management assistance.<\/p>\n
