Elon Musk’s Fix for LA Traffic on the Joe Rogan Experience

“You know, it’s just a hole in the ground…”, said Boring Company Founder and CEO Elon Musk in response to a question about the viability of his tunneling project in the interview on the popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

While the answer seems rather nonchalant, one can’t help but get the sense that Musk really believes his project is as simple as this statement sounds.

Musk begins by discussing the origin of The Boring Company, saying it started as a ‘joke’ which later turned into a ‘hobby’ company.

Although Musk’s discussion of the Boring Company itself was quite short, saying that after he decided to make the company real and dig a tunnel under Los Angeles, other people asked the company to dig tunnels for them as well.

The company has grown significantly since its inception, raising over one-hundred million dollars in funding and taking on tunneling projects around the nation, including creating an underground high speed public transportation system to the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Now that would be AWESOME and would put a new experience on the 7th inning stretch song, “take me out to the ball game…”

Elon later discussed the growth of tunneling projects as a whole, the potential for creating high speed hyperloop systems within existing tunnels, as well as offering a critique on the idea of flying cars. TBH, we prefers tunnels.
