OK, so if you’ve been reading TI, you’ve likely came across more and more of our Hyperloop articles. With Elon Musk’s ideas which aim to redefine transportation, the big bet is around the Hyperloop and how that will change how we get from one place to another.

Gone would be the days where you’d have to plan ahead of time to get to distant locations, with the Hyperloop, major cities in different countries would be within minutes reach. At least that’s how Dirk Ahlborn, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies CEO see it. In the video above @0:36, he’s vision sees commuters being able to “connect to major cities that are within 8-9 hours apart within 15-30 minutes” , imagine that.

That type of transits system would likely really benefit the US, only because the country is so big and so spread out, so LA to SF or DC to NY would be within minute, not hours reach.

The concept of people traveling in tubes has been around for more than a century but has not turn to reality yet. In 2013, Elon Musk decided he’d glamorize the idea of a Hyeprloop where he actually designed blueprints and put the challenge in the hands of the engineers per @1:08.

A few decided to take a stab at the concept. Private companies and educational institutions such as UCLA rand simulations and models but they quickly came to the realization that turning the idea in to a reality is much more difficult that one would imagine. One of the main challenges would be that we would have to build the entire infrastructure from the ground up, and if you know anything about building public transit system, you’d know that by no means is that an easy task.

With our rapid technological advancement and the need to rethink our transit system, us here at TI do see the Hyperloop as a viable solution’s in the future. This type of disruptive technology or something similar is what would be needed to keep up with the demand of getting to and from locations, faster, safer and in an more efficient manner

We’d like to hear your thoughts! What do you think about the Hyerloop and would you be scared to ride it?
